On 60 Minutes, George Clooney slams Trump, but the president doesn’t back down.

The Broadway version of Clooney’s first movie, Good Night and Good Luck, which came out in 2005, has been getting a lot of attention.

It tells the story of Edward R. Murrow, a reporter who is targeted by Sen. Joseph McCarthy during the 1950s “Red Scare” against communists.

Clooney said, “The fourth estate has to succeed when the other three fail. When the judiciary, the executive, and the legislative fail us.” He was talking about the press as the fourth estate.

“ABC just reached a settlement with the Trump administration in a lawsuit.” And CBS News is doing it… There’s this idea that the government or businesses could be used to scare or fine media and make them less important.

“The press shouldn’t be free,” the government said. They have never. He also said, “That’s true whether you’re a conservative, a liberal, or on any other side.” “The press bothers them.”

Trump criticized Clooney on Truth Social, saying that he supported Biden and then “dumped him like a dog.” He was referring to Clooney’s New York Times op-ed in which he asked Biden to step down.

Trump went on, “Later, I think on orders from the Obama camp, pushed all out for ‘Kamala,’ only to quickly realize that this was not going to work out too well.”
